Trick or Treat

Halloween 2010 started off with Asher as a Super Jew Superhero.
Softa bought him the Super Jew onesie last Hanukkah and thankfully it was 18-24 months.
We recently bought Asher a NC State Wolfpack Fan cape and he LOVES wearing it.
Let's just say this wasn't the first time he wore it. Yay for Dress up!

Asher's buddy Jacob Hirsch came over dressed as a sweet lil duckie.
They had quite a fun play date. Asher didn't attempt to step on Jacob too many times.

Quack Quack!

As guests started to arrive for our Halloween gathering Asher transformed from a Superhero to a Sock Monkey!

Jen and Jason came over for treat or treating!
He wasn't so sure about the hat...

We made it to several houses on foot.
Impressive for a new walker, but then again he is a busy body and thought trick or treating was THE BEST TIME EVER!

Our neighbor Eric letting him dig into the bowl!

Our sweet sock monkey loved seeing all the kids in costume!

More candy...ohhh yeah!

The sky was gorgeous yet eerie as the sun went down!!

Somebody was having a blast!

Nana and Poppy came dressed up and were by far the best dressed of the night!
(Asher was obsessed with watching the trick or treater's)

Asher with our next door neighbor Amelia.

Softa and the Sock Monkey!

We had a TON of food
Turkey Chilli, Beef Chilli, Beer Cheese Bread, Guacamole, Jicama Salad, Sprinkles Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting, Baked Apples, Nut Nosh & Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. It was delicious.

As always I had to get creative with the pumpkins.
This year I etched a pumpkin with wood carving tools. We loved the glow effect!

Our classic NC State Pumpkin. We carved it one day too early and the N and the C shrunk but still pretty impressive without a stencil!

The "Oh No" Asher Pumpkin. The hands are Asher's actual hand true to size.

The witch's cauldron made with a crockpot and dry ice.
We will be perfecting this for next year.
We also had haunted music on the patio.

We had so much fun decorating and preparing food for Halloween that we have decided we are going to have an adult costume party next year with elaborate decor and effects.
364 days and counting!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Graduation!

Asher graduated from Mecklenburg County Services Infant Toddler Program!
After 10 months of Physical Therapy in our home every Friday Asher is performing or exceeding all age appropriate fine and gross motor skills.
To say we loved our PT team is an understatement.
Kesha (right) was our County Coordinator. She had quite a year while serving as our coordinator and we were honored to have her return to our case after taking some time off after losing her own child days before her due date. She is extremely near and dear to our hearts and will be greatly missed.
Tammy (left) was Asher's PT. Asher LOVED Tammy. He got excited every week when she walked in the door. He put on a show for her and loved tugging on her scoop neck shirts. Tammy was our personal advisor on development. She made being a first time parent so much easier. She always knew the right things to say. She gave the best advice and gave us lots of encouragement. She celebrated Asher's milestones with as much excitement as we did. We could not be more thankful for all of her love, patience and talent as a PT.

Asher was NOT feeling photo time and was sad about saying goodbye.
We are SO PROUD of our BIG BOY!

It's Fall Y'all!!

and we are sooo excited!
We can now hang outside without sweating up a storm
...without burning our hands and feet on the driveway
...the air is crisp and the leaves are falling...

we love fall ya'll!

The decorative juices were flowing and I made this wreath from scratch

We headed to a nearby pumpkin patch to let Asher pick out his very own pumpkin. He wasnt sure about walking on the hay on the ground but quickly found the joy in the pumpkin pandemonium! Why was it blazing hot and over 80 degrees in October, ugh.....bring on fall!

What a sweet lil boy!

Can this be true? A photo with all of us looking and smiling!?
This might be a Schreibman First!

My favorite fall photo for 2010!

...another face forward smiling photo...that's 2 for 2!

Asher showing off his pumpkin selections and mums (that he loves to knock flowers off)

I LOVE decorating for fall!

Halloween is right around the corner....
To say that we can not wait is an understatement!

The Pizza Bandit

Caught Red Handed

Pizza for Breakfast, why not?

I set the box on the floor so I could grab something else before I opened the door to put it all in the trash. Before I could turn around Asher had already opened up the old pizza box and was pulling out the pizza slices. We love how mischievous and silly Asher is. So cute, so much fun.

Air/Road Trip to see the Carney's!

We all travelled to DC to visit Sissy and Uncle Rich.
I flew from Nashville, Asher and Daddy flew from Charlotte (this was Asher's 4th flight!) and my parents drove our car from Charlotte to DC.

The trip started off Thursday night with a sleepover with my best friend Andrea (who is pregnant with a girl!) We had the best time catching up, snuggling on the couch and doing nothing, which is what we like to do best together.

Friday morning we met up with my sister and Andrea's sister for brunch. Needless to say we couldve sat there for hours, but we had to pick up Asher and Philip from the airport.

It was their first daddy son flight. According to Philip Asher did great and wasnt too wiggly!

Friday evening our entire family met up at Meridian Hill Park for our FIRST EVER family photos (this will be a separate post)

everything was peachy until a special someone got hungry & tired...

sweet baby boy...

...something about this photo I really love...

Asher and his Uncle Rich have a VERY special bond

The girls snuck off after dinner for a quick stop at one of sissy's clients bar for a glass of wine!
The guys were pissed hahaha!

Saturday we woke up to beautiful weather and headed to the DC National Zoo for Asher's FIRST visit to the Zoo!

Asher "walked" all over the place
(this was before he was a full time walker)

...this might be his new favorite thing...

he sure loves Nana and Poppy

...especially crazy poppy!

...some how we thought it would be a great idea to spend 76 cents to make a commemorative Zoo penny...asher was amused!

...this is such a sweet photo

he loved the panda bear!

the panda bear live and in person!

...let me in there!

this elephant is 63 years old and one of the oldest zoo elephants in the world!

The Apes..

The tiger's.
I need to get a video of Asher's lion impression. Coming soon!

...did I mention they have a special bond?

...where did my sister find him???
(he used to work at a daycare, dont let him fool you!)

the boys acting out

What an awesome family visit/trip!

Sunday we grabbed a quick breakfast and hit the road.
Amazingly Asher did really well, he took 2 naps totalling 3 hours and we only stopped 2 times the entire 8 hour drive!

What an awesome weekend! We miss Sissy and Rich always!
