I am 30

I took ZERO photos to document the event.

Its not that I didnt want to document it...it just wasnt significant!

We went to the gym.

Met my family for brunch at IHOP....although not the classiest place, it was delicious.

Sold some things on craigslist because we are cleaning out all the closets and selling all of our guest bedroom stuff to prepare the decorating process of Asher's big boy bedroom.

Took a nap.

Ate dinner with my inlaws

Went grocery shopping at 9 pm at night for Super Doubles...

where I spent $80 and saved $120.

Now that is what I am calling a birthday present :)

We have a trip coming up to NYC with two other couples where we will celebrate my birthday, our 5 year wedding anniversary and live it up like we did before kids.

On a side note...I keep finding gray hairs popping up all over my head. Ekkk.

That I do not welcome with age!

We just celebrated the Jewish Holiday Purim!

Asher dressed up as the King...

I had a blast making his costume from scratch and jeweling his crown!

Asher's girlfriend Frieda was a cute kitten with a ladybug bracelet balloon.

Mr Twister the Balloon man always comes and makes cute creations for the kids!

We call this the sleazy king.... the neckline was a little too large.

So much for my non-pattern making sewing skills. Ops.

It sure didnt effect his cuteness factor!

Asher was showing Lila how you color a crown. These two love to flirt and kiss. We are in trouble!

Nana and Poppy joined us for the celebration. Softa was also there, but she was busy coordinating the Purim Family Dinner at Temple!

We did lots of singing to Rabbi Micha's guitar!

and parading around the social hall and into the family dinner in our costumes!

Asher and Amanda also made Hamantaschen again this year....but we ate them before we could snap a photo. Yummmy!

Surprise!

On Saturday, March 12th my mom decided to host a pampered chef party.

I was all ready to buy my deep dish covered baker.

I havent been to a pampered chef party in years.

I was really excited.

My mother in law took me out to lunch and out for manicure/pedicures that day for a girls day. Afterwards we made a few stops to cute stores and then headed off to the party together.

We arrived on time to the pampered chef party...

The Theme was Martha Stewart/ Susie Homemaker...which was perfect for me

My sister assembled these adorable recipe books for everyone to take home.

My mom had dark chocolate tea pot pops for everyone to take home.

Eliza also made this adorable centerpiece that I got to keep!

So cute! Everything looked perfect.

They served all my favorites.....greek dip, Zoe's Kitchen sandwiches...etc.

Eliza had this apron made for me and had everyone sign it.

My mom made this cute sign...

My great aunt even made it after recently having pneumonia!

Asher was super helpful in blowing out the birthday candles!

I could not be more thankful for the wonderful birthday surprise that my family put together for me. It could not have been any better!

Thank you sissy for putting your heart and soul into this party and thank you Rich for putting up with her while she planned it all.

So thankful for these girls!

i feel like such a lucky girl to such blessings in my life.

I am excited to be 30th. I dont feel "old" and it doesnt sound old to me.

The best is yet to be!

You would think I was pregnant...

if you knew how much nesting I have been doing lately.

BUT I am NOT pregnant. I promise.

Either its spring or boredom, but I have this urge to redecorate. EVERYTHING.

On a budget of course.

Out of no where I decided I wanted to paint the 1/2 bath downstairs.

I picked out paint (which happened to be the same as Asher's bathroom)

Bought it (despite Philip's wishes)

Painted it myself (if you know me, you know I DO NOT PAINT)

and then

as I was cleaning up

realized

I cracked our pedestal sink.

AHHHHHHH

I was pissed. An expense we do not need.

I was however secretly excited because I hated that pedestal sink and really wanted a cabinet sink. So we had no choice but to buy a new sink. We did some research and got a beautiful cabinet sink at Lowe's.

We had never taken out a sink or replaced one.

My mom's words were, "YOU are installing it!?!? You are not going to hire someone"

We didn't need that extra expense.

After a few YouTube videos and tutorials we turned the water off and began the 3 day process (and 3 trips to Lowe's) of replacing the sink.

It started off rough. Philip was in the middle of working on his midterm for school. The last thing he wanted to do was to deal with this in his not-so-spare time. He sucked it up and pushed forward. He tried to loosen all of the connections in the back of the sink and wasnt making progress. I intervened, evaluated and realized he was not following the rule of thumb. Righty tighty. Lefty loosey. Yup.... he was tightening the mess out of that pipe. Ops! We got a good laugh out of this. We were finally able to rip the sink off the wall after everything was disconnected.

We then proceeded to detach the drain from the sink to reuse in the new sink. It would not budge. The space was so tight we were working with. Genius wife to the rescue again. Why not take the bowl off the pedestal. Brilliant. It works and we were able to detach the drain instantly.

At this point we realized we didnt have the right caulk to reassemble the sink parts so our project was halted till the following day.

After a trip to Lowe's we attempted to install the sink, but realized two of our pipes were not long enough. Ops. Another trip to Lowe's. We now have a beautiful functional sink. And best of all we did it all by ourselves.

So after replacing the sink, painting the bathroom, installing a new mirror that wasnt cracked (oh year, one month after we put the mirror up when we moved in it cracked on its own!?!?) and we replaced the light fixture that was chrome vs brushed nickel like everything else in the house. Viola....the new bathroom!

Now what to do with this cracked sink!?!?

On the note of nesting. I really want to redecorate everything. I finally got a shower curtain made for Asher's bathroom. I also moved the brown scroll magazine rack from above his toilet and put it downstairs in my newly renovated half bath pictured above. I designed this adorable 16x20 sign for above his toilet in the bathroom. The colors match his shower curtain.

and I have started planning his big boy bedroom.

Mr Independence

Meet Mr. Independence.

While we were working in the garage/yard we found Asher reorganizing the paint cans.

Not only can he lift almost full paint cans, he can put them on the shelf and remove them and replace them all while holding another paint can in the other hand.

He is also strategic about his paint can placement.

Why not cart one around in the back of his bike, right?

Asher loves, loves, loves to be outside.

He gets very upset when we try to get him to go inside.

Asher quickly learned that when we are outside we wear hats. We are trying to get him in the habit of shielding his face from the sun now before we get too far into the summer and the blazing sun. So far he has refused sunglasses but maybe he will turn a corner.

Nothing cuter than a lil boy wearing an NC State hat, right?

he recently started trying to climb on everything.

with the warmer weather....asher has been a busy bee.
