CSA #2

This week's crop share made for a perfect dinner with leftovers! Saturday night we sauteed fresh garlic, onions, potatoes, the two types of zucchini in the photo below, fresh eggplant and bella mushrooms. The fresh garlic smelled amazing and was deliciously juicy. We cut a crisp green salad with the CSA lettuce and grilled up ribeyes. We used almost all of the items from our CSA and it tasted so fresh!

All gussied up for Pam & Jason!

Two of our good friends Pam and Jason got married this weekend at the Ballantyne Resort and Lodge. We were pretty excited about getting all dressed up for this beautiful black tie affair. To add icing to the cake I claim that I set them up since they met at a 20's/30's Young Adult event that I planned two years ago. We had a blast at the wedding and are so happy for the two of them as they take this journey in life together. Pam and Jason have been living long distance (Charlotte & Michigan) for the past year and although we are sad to see Pam move up to Michigan to be with Jason we know they will back soon! Right guys!?!?

The ceremony was outside overlooking the golf course.

It was picture perfect...a little toasty (the guys were dripping sweat) and PACKED.

Over 250+ guests...standing room only!

(dont worry there was no one golfing during the ceremony, just very loud ducks QUACKING!)

Pamela & Josh came up from Atlanta.

We were so fortunate that they stayed with us the night of the wedding. We miss them tons and wish they were still in Charlotte...what is with everyone moving on us!?!?

Asher has finally decided that he doesnt want to be a snake or a catepillar or a worm...he is kicking it doggy style on all fours! Go Asher go...!



You can tell he is still unsure how to move once up on his knees but I have a feeling it will only be a few days before he is ruling the house!

What is Normal?

Asher's MRI went very smoothly, as smoothly as putting an 11 1/2 month old to sleep for a procedure could go...I let Philip take him back to be sedated because the last MRI I took him back and it creeped me out/upset me watching them put him to sleep.

The procedure took much less time than we were originally told it would take, however they still had to sedate and intubate him. He did really well and was back to his normal self before bed time the same day (with a raspy cough fromt he tube down his throat) We got to keep some of his procedure pieces (the mask still smells like bubble gum!)

Two days later we received the results and the entire MRI was NORMAL (spine to skull).

This is wonderful news. No fused spine, no spine/skull jam, no tethered cord. No surgery. NADA. We could not be happier.

Still no answers as to why he has these episodes.

Oh well.

He is a very happy well behaved ALMOST TODDLER!

Back on the Boat!

We finally got back on the boat.... after a one year hiatus thanks to being super pregnant and/or managing life with a newborn last summer. We really missed it and were thrilled when Pam and Jason called us at the last minute this weekend to go out on the lake.

We quickly asked Softa to watch Asher and headed for Lake Norman. It was great to catch up with Pam and Jason and have some fun times with friends...even if the rain and thunder ended our afternoon on the lake early.

Pam and Jason are getting married in 2 weeks. We can't wait to celebrate! It was great to hang out with them before the wedding since Jason lives in Michigan and Pam will be moving up there shortly after the wedding.

We can't wait for many more weekend on the boat at the Lake.

Strawberry's with Soraya

We joined our sweet friend Soraya at her 3rd Birthday Party at the Hall Family Farm.

Corn and strawberries are grown on this farm.

50 adults and 35 children attended this fun filled party.

Each kid got to pick an entire pound of strawberries to take home, watch the ducks race, eat a strawberry slushy and eat cake. It was the perfect party.

"I know I'm not ONE yet and I know I'm not supposed to eat strawberries,

but they were too irresistible. I wasn't allergic."

...wow I've never had these before, let me inspect it first...

We will definitely be going back and making this a yearly if not more than once tradition. The strawberries were melt in your mouth, drool like a fool DELICIOUS. We stuffed our mouths the entire time we picked.
