Sippy cups are for water. According to Asher
They are not meant for milk. According to Asher
This has been a difficult transition.
Maybe it is because he was breast fed till he was 16 months.
Maybe it is because he is stuck in his ways.
Amanda found this transition sippy cup and so far this is the ONLY "pseudo sippy cup" Asher will drink milk out of. Wish us luck as we transition to a regular sippy cup.

We have tried just about everything to include straws, the nuby cups, silicone sippy cups, regular cups, the Born Free sippy cup tops...
Feel free to make suggestions as to what worked for you.
We used the Nuby sports bottles. They worked for us.
ReplyDeletethat looks almost just like the born frees...try the soft born free tops? or the nuby with the straws. he will get it if he has no other option, i promise. he will survive if he goes a few days without milk. also...have you tried different kinds of milk?
ReplyDeletenot sure if it will help since he knows "how" to drink from a cup, but just doesn't want to do it for milk. but ethan couldn't figure it out until i used the "disposable" cups that come in a colorful 4 pack. they have no valve so the kids can sip it really easily. it also leaks from the spout if you tip it upside down but we only used them for about a week and then he was ready for the playtex sipsters which is all we use now.
ReplyDeletegood luck! sometimes they just get stuck in their comfort zones!
Nana says that if you put a sippy cup of milk in front of him when he is very thirsty he will drink out of it. It is very simple. I suggest that YOU all use sippy cups too so that he thinks it is the 'cool' thing to do! Let's all get sippy cups and use them from now on! Go sippy cups!
ReplyDeleteStraws, the nuby cups, silicone sippy cups, regular cups, the Born Free sippy cup tops... What in the world?? Put the cup in front of him. If he's thirsty he'll drink. If not he won't. Worked for you and you turned out OK, ya think??
