15 months oh mi!

We can't believe our little man is 15 months!

Asher's 15 month stats:
26 lbs - 75th %tile
31 1/2 inches - 75th %tile (he really sprouted the past 3 months!)
His head is a different measurement depending upon who measures it.
This has become the check up joke. One nurse always measures it huge. Like 140th %tile+.
The doctor always remeasures it and its 60th %tile. Whatever.

Dr. Matt examining Asher.

Nurse Lori (our favorite) measuring the big boy!

Measuring his head for the FIRST time...

Almost time for the big boy scale!

This month Asher has started walking with minimal assistance!
He took 5 steps on Thursday and is getting braver by the day. We suspect we will have a walker in the next week or two. We are so proud of this accomplishment. We have all worked very hard to develop this skill and he could not be more excited for it to click in his head and feet!

Asher's PT is still coming every Friday and will do so until he is running. As first time parents this has been so helpful for all of us. We all truly love his PT, Tammy and the County Services Coordinator Kesha. He always makes huge progress after each week's therapy.

Here are some recent Asher photo favorites...

Look Ma, No hands!!!

What's more fun than a day in your jammies!

Walking with Daddy on the Greenway.
Best view in town!

Time for Asher to take charge of the stroller

This is easy...one hand!

Just like you daddy...

Now its my turn to take over.

I told you I knew what I was doing!

Crash...good thing no one was in there!

I used to fit inside this basket very nicely...

HELP....!!!

That is what I'm talking about...
15 month old's shouldn't be sitting in baskets!

Fun Asher facts:
Asher is extremely independent and came play by himself forever.
We can now play peek a boo with our hands and not just curtain!
Opening cabinets and discovering what is inside is a favorite around our house.
He is BUSY. Constantly on the go.
He is an extremely fast crawler.
When he is serious and mischievous he displays an underbite.
He knows when he is the center of attention and loves to be a ham.
He scrunches his nose when he smiles big. He laughs when we laugh.
He is learning to pat pat Bella and she is tolerating it a little better. But just a little.
We started introducing the potty at bath time thanks to several friends recommendations and so far he has only peed in the potty twice, but hey its twice. By all means we are NOT trying to potty train yet. Funny note: The first time he went while sitting on the potty it shot out on my foot. Oh the joys of boys!
He can now sign "more, all done and tree".
Yeah tree is kind of random but he does it.
He can say way more than he can sign. He is extremely verbal.
Still sleeping like a champ and eating like a champ.
He eats anything.
He loves music and head bangs/bops to it.
He has 7 teeth which include 1 first year molar. He has about 4 teeth on the way, which makes for a fun time. Teething doesnt phase him much, but enough for us to know he is teething.
Working on transitioning his milk bottles to milk sippy cups. We are struggling on this one.
I guess it might help if I stopped nursing. He can do water in sippy cups but freaks when it comes to milk...even warm milk.
Asher doesnt like anything cold except water. Ice Cream, yogurt, milk. Cold, no thanks.

I'm sure I have repeated myself in prior blogs. But then again, its all about keeping a record.
As I sit here and type my child is shaking different bottles of vitamins like maracas. I guess I better get off the computer.

Have I mentioned I swear I'm going to be a mother of 3 boys. My gut tells me so.

snip snip

We finally bit the bullet and cut his hair...

His hair was in his eyes and forming a mullet

Several people asked if he was a girl (seriously!?!?)

So off we went this Saturday to Pigtails and Crewcuts for his first trim

He loved his hair dresser and the fire truck!

but was very fond of the spray bottle

he was much better behaved than we expected

his rat tail is gone and his hair still has some curl to it

his little jewish man "pais" are gone (long curls over their ears)

clearly getting your haircut is something to be excited about when you are this cute!

serious business people

the final touches

Voila....our big boy with his Poppy, Nana and Softa at his first haircut.
Yes everything our family does is a family affair/production. We love it that way.

Cheeeeese! So handsome!

He even got to pick out a treasure out of the treasure box.
We also bought him some special kids hair gel...!?!?
Lets see what kind of crazy hair do's we can come up with now!

Gone Greek

Saturday was the Greek Festival in Charlotte.
We met up with the McGinnis' and enjoyed live dancing, all kinds of greek food and stayed out way past our bed time!

Asher loved the men all dressed up!

Ella & Asher on their supervised date

This food is yummy!

All boy...getting dirty!

FILTHY

Baklava Sundae with his girlfriend. He ate the gyro and saved the dessert for the sweet girl.

She knows the good stuff!

Hopefully she likes me as much as she liked the Greek sweets!

Purrty Ella

Asher got home at 9 pm... went straight into the bath.
The bath water was BLACK.
I love my dirty boy!
Next year we will ride the rides at the festival...can't wait!

Getting Braver!

Before you watch:
Yes, Philip has tattoos (2 on his back), in case you didn't know.
Yes I have a habit for catching "Asher doing his business". Sorry!
Enjoy... we are so proud as you can tell by our excitement in the video.

Riding in the Caboose

Amelia (our next door neighbor) and Asher getting ready for their first ride together!

Now the real question is:
Who had more fun? Asher and Amelia or Asher's Daddy?

Expired

Philip has a cold, or is sick.
How did he get sick?
From french kissing his son.
Yup you read that right.
Philip sticks his tongue out to get a rise out of Asher and Asher attacks Philip open mouthed.
It's a sign of endearment. That boy loves his daddy. Daddy loves his sons slobber kisses.
Its quite possibly the cutest sight.
But the big baby is now sick.
He sure is a big baby, but I love him for it.

In order to sleep he must drug himself into a Robitussin/NyQuil induced coma.
Well more like in order for me to sleep in the same bed as him...he must be drugged.
He also has a bad habit of taking expired medicines.
Its been a problem since I've known him.
It's one thing to take a medicine that has expired a few months ago...

BUT THREE YEARS!?!?!?!?!
You have no idea....
We had years and years worth of expired allergy medicine when we got married andI went through his stash.
Somehow this NyQuil was overlooked.

As you can see above he tried to pull a quick one on me tonight.
3 years expired.

All I can say is he is really lucky to have me.
He might not be alive otherwise (wink wink)
Oh how I love my boys!

Busted

For the record he got up there himself.
Neither Philip nor I were home.
We will NOT be encouraging this...but man it was funny!

Guess who let him do this???
