Our good friends Jen and Jason were out of the country when Asher was born on their delayed honeymoon (one year later)...they visited Italy, Greece and many more on their cruise and extended stay in Santorini. Jen was checking her blackberry daily to see if I had the baby. Unfortunately Asher didnt't wait for them to get home...but his Bris fell the day after they arrived home so they were able to come.
Jen and Jason offered to make us dinner at OUR HOUSE....and of course we thought this was a fantastic idea. Jason is the chef in their house, Jen is the baker.

Apetizer: They prepared skewers with peppercini's, artichokes and roasted red and orange peppers drizzled with olive oil.

Pizza 1: Jason also prepared two pizza's from scratch using white and whole wheat hand rolled crust. One pizza had goat cheese, arugula and grilled onions drizzled with a balsamic glaze.

Pizza 2: Margherita pizza with a red pizza/tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil drilled with olive oil.

We all swore there was no way we could polish off all the pizza but we somehow did except for 4 slices. The pizza is really light and the crust is very thin. It was delcious! For dessert Jen baked yellow cake with chocolate icing (Philip's favorite) and fresh fruit that had the largest blackberry any of us had ever seen in it.
Thank you so much for such a delicious treat in our own home! I loved this idea and will definitely try to do this for friends if possible in the future.
Asher was a peach and slept the ENTIRE time they were here. He was mainly in his crib except to take the photo and to eat....he is such a great baby!
What sweet friends and what a great idea! The pizzas looked so yummy and yellow cake with chocolate icing is Jamie's favorite dessert too!
